Lisa started her company back in 2008 when she was laid off from her job as a bedding designer in Southern California. After losing her job she moved back to her hometown of Detroit and started Ellembee.
She has been in business 11 years, and she has a small team helping to make Ellembee the best it can be. Over the past eleven years Ellembee expanded their line to include women's tees, tanks, hoodies, jackets, and dresses. They also have onesies for babies and a small selection of jewelry. In early 2015 they released their new line of tea towels and coasters, and they now have over 150 funny towel designs!
Ellembee has a 2,000 square foot warehouse in Wixom, MI, where they print each and every tee and towel by hand, using an eco-friendly, water-based ink.
