Rachel Steiner is a potter and artist based in Oakland, California. She studied at California College of the Arts and earned a BFA in ceramics in May of 2014. Since then she has strengthened and established her skills as a potter by working with other unique and hardworking makers through the Make. Do. Collective.
Her work takes on a simple, minimal style that is easy to incorporate into the everyday life–the curve of her mugs and bowls fits naturally in the hand. To Rachel one of the most important aspects of pottery is how comfortable it feels in daily use. All of Rachel's work is hand thrown with stoneware and the glazes are applied and fired to a very high temperature.
