Some more blogger love! The lovely Micaela Hoo of the San Francisco style blog Drifter & the Gypsy gave a great review of our opening reception and snapped some excellent pictures! See the original post here or take a look at what Micaela said below:
Last Thursday was the Makers Market grand opening party. I was really impressed by the amazing turnout of people who came. So many makers and creatives all in one place! (And hello fellow blog readers, it was nice to meet you too!) Suzy, the owner, gave a mini speech midway through the event about the Makers Market vision from conception to fruition. I have a soft spot for entrepreneurs doing their thang and was pretty much a basket case of emotions and inspiration by the end of the night.
If you’re not familiar with Makers Market, the purpose of the online (and now brick + mortar store) is to preserve American craftsmanship. I fully believe in spending MORE money on an item whose maker you actually KNOW than buying something mass-produced and cheaply made that will eventually break, forcing you to buy a new one. How does the saying go? Quality > quantity? Oh yes.
I’m also a big fan of Fat and the Moon‘s branding. Look how pretty those jars look all lined up!

The entire store smelled so good. And then I realized it was all the candles they had on display! My favorite was the Lime & Coconut.
I have no doubt Makers Market will be fully loved in San Francisco. You can check them out online or visit the storefront at:
