As we gear up for International Women’s Day on March 8th, we have been digging deep into the stories of our favorite female-founded businesses. One in particular, is the wife-and-husband run P.F. Candle Co. based in Los Angeles, CA.
Childhood maker turned maker-movement advocate, Kristen Pumphrey, boldly launched the company in 2008 after a recession-related job loss. Her company’s mission is to create high quality fragrances for the home and body. Inspiration behind all of her yummy products stem from her own personal memories and the smells that trigger them. Scents range from lush and woodsy “Teakwood & Tobacco”, to botanically influenced “Black Fig”, nostalgically named after her backyard’s fruit trees.
Watch her inspiring story!
Last October, P.F. celebrated their 10th anniversary and some key changes to the company included a new warehouse location and the grand opening of their very first brick-and-mortar in Echo Park, Los Angeles. They have rolled out new candle sizes and scents including “Cannabis” and “Sandalwood Rose”, not to mention a brand new unisex fragrance collection featuring some of their best-selling flavors. And, the special edition candle scent “Apple Picking” has been re-released for limited time! You can find it here: https://makersmarket.us/apple-candle/
This spring, we are especially excited about P.F.’s Terra Candle Collection. Terra is a 100% soy wax candle line made with plant-derived fragrance oils and cotton wicks. Best of all, when the candle is empty, you can reuse the Terracotta pots as perfect little planters, (or anything else you fancy). We are currently stocking Terra candles in “Juniper" and “Rosemary" scents.
Oprah agrees and has placed the P.F. Terra collection on her Favorite Things list of 2018 stating that these eco-friendly gifts “make days merry and bright in winter, and the pots become perfect planters in spring.”
8 oz Terra burn time: 45-55 hours. | 17.5 oz Terra burn time: 75-85 hours
