On Wednesday July 1st we opened our doors for business. In the year since Makers Market first began we’ve spread our mission through pop ups, craft fairs, and the online marketplace. Each of those platforms were a valuable way to support our mission of “Rebuilding the Legacy of American Made”, and we’ll continue to do them, but its a brick and mortar location we’ve been pining after.
When it comes to our goods, the quality of the materials and singularities of the craftsmanship beg for the customer to experience them in their own hands. There is something about the texture of Horween leather or the shine of satin matte glazes that cannot be entirely relayed in a photograph or product description. And there is something about having a permanent store that allows the curation of our handmade goods to develop organically.
Our collection will be continually refreshed. Our local makers will be dropping off new inventory as its sold and made. We want local folks to be able to pop in on their lunch breaks to see what’s new, and out-of-towners to wander in and find the perfect keepsake of their travels to bring home to a loved one.
Most of all we want to be a part of the community–one that yearns for products that are locally produced, honors the heritage of American made and celebrates its resurgence.
